Short Shift.

Manual transmissions are dead. Nobody wants one. Traffic kills the satisfaction of the shift. Even higher end, sports cars, like the new Supra have no manual transmission. The general population just doesn’t want stick shift. People just don’t want to be engaged with driving anymore. It’s a necessity, not an experience anymore. I can honestly see where they’re coming from. Sitting 2 hours a day in bumper to bumper traffic after a long at the office is no joke. It’s mindnumbingly boring. And it’s infuriating as well. It’s not a fun experience.
I guess it had to happen sometime. I’d be surprised if in the next 15 or so years people will even remember driving stick. The onset of stuff driving cars are already upon us. Imagine the roads in 15 years. Safer yes. Even more boring?
Most definitely.
