Island Mosque.

Situated on the North side of the Jeddah Corniche, the “Island Mosque” is one of the prettiest sights on the coast line. Standing out by itself away from the coast, the striking white domes tucked behind palm trees juxtapose the brilliant blue sea, drawing your eyes closer and closer until you can look at nothing else but the minimalistic Andalusian architecture flowing in a perfect culmination of land and sea. The Mediterranean esque mosque was built in the early 1980’s, on a small man-made island on the edge of the Red Seas coral reef. It’s astounding beauty captivates all, and coexists in perfect harmony with the sea.
