Auburn Autumn.

It’s hard being productive. It’s so easy for time to get away from us, like a rug being pulled from under you. But time is one of our greatest assets. It’s one thing that none can buy, and it’s one thing we’re completely responsible for.

It’s like having access to your own personal water supply. You know that there’s a finite amount of it, but also you know (or think) that its more than enough, there enough tonnage of it, that you don’t need to worry to try and save it, to relinquish every drop. It’s plentiful, and there’s more than enough to go around. Have a 20-minute shower? No problem. Leave the tap running while you brush your teeth? Why not. Let a gallon run down the drain while you wait for the temperature to be just right to wash your hands? Who cares? No one will know anyways. It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter, right until it’s almost all gone. Only when you peer into the well and see the bottom glistening back, then only do you get alarmed. Then only the realization sets in, and with that, the regret. Such is the hands of the clock. It goes round and round endlessly, until one day it ticks its last. Do not think you have time. You don’t. None of us do. Time on this earth is not a renewable resource. Once this hour has passed, on this day, of this month, it will never return. Never ever. Time cannot be taken for granted. Man is indeed in a state of loss. Remember the ultimate purpose, the bigger picture. Don’t lose the forest for the trees.
